ducati auction RM Auctions’ eagerly-awaited biennial event in Monaco returns, coinciding with the 8th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique.

Extended to two days, the auction presents some of the most exciting motor cars in the world to serious collectors and discerning enthusiasts from all corners of the globe.

The first auction day will be devoted to the Saltarelli Ducati Collection, one of the largest private collections of Ducati motorcycles ever to be offered at auction.

The collection includes bikes such as a ’75 750 SS Corsa, a 750 200 Miglia Imola Corsa replica (est £65k-£100k) and two Desmosedici GP11 VR2s (est £250k-£285k each). The collection is highly regarded for its scope and quality and commands great respect from Ducati riders and enthusiasts the world over.

The 192 page auction catalogue (itself a work of art and important historical document) includes a foreword by Gabriele Del Torchio CEO and President, Ducati Motor Holdings.

Diego Sgorbati (Director of Marketing, Ducati Motor Holding) goes on to say – Ducati have never offered any of its Factory MotoGP motorcycles for auction before, so this is an exclusive world’s first event. The lucky buyer will be entrusted with a Desmosedici full of GP racing secrets and, as such, is sure to become a very close member of the ‘Ducati family’! It is an honour to be involved in such a historic sale and to be a part of making this unique, chance-of-a-lifetime purchase come true for someone.
