Welcome to episode three of Honda SBK Classic Corners series, which finds us in the Netherlands, at the Assen TT Circuit and the remarkable Geert Timmer chicane.

Despite recent changes to what has been called ‘The Cathedral’ of motorsport, the Geert Timmer remains a ‘do-or-die’ corner, where the outcome of many races – in both World Superbikes and GPs – has been determined over the years.

Offering one of the few passing opportunities, the Geert Timmer chicane is also Assen’s final corner and needs to be executed perfectly to carry speed on to the start-finish straight for a fast lap of the circuit.

In this episode of SBK Classic Corners, Honda World Superbike Team riders, Jonathan Rea and Hiroshi Aoyama, talk about their experience of and approach to Geert Timmer.

The film also offers a little local knowledge provided by the press officer of the Assen TT Circuit, Peter Schorer, and Ronald ten Kate, manager of the Honda World Superbike Team, which is based just 55km from Assen.
