Chrissy Rouse, the 2011 winner of the Triumph Young Guns competition, is celebrating after clinching the 2013 Triumph Triple Challenge title at Silverstone on Sunday, 6th October.

Now in its third year, the Triumph Young Guns scheme was launched to develop the racing careers of young, up and coming motorcycle racers. Rouse’s championship victory is testament to the success of the scheme and will serve as a great milestone for others, such Tom Oliver last year’s winner, to follow.

Rouse won the first Triumph Young Gun competition, impressing the judging panel with his infectious enthusiasm, racing talent and determination to win. The Newcastle-on-Tyne based rider continued to show great promise in his first year in the Triumph Triple Challenge in 2012 finishing fourth overall in the championship. However, this year the Stratstone Triumph backed rider has really shown his true colours, dominating the 2013 season by claiming ten victories, as well as numerous podium visits to wrap up the championship in emphatic style at the penultimate round. The final round if the Triumph Triple Challenge takes place at Brands Hatch on 18th – 20th October.

Chrissy Rouse, said: “To win the Triumph Triple Challenge is absolutely fantastic! I have had a great year so far and I want to thank Triumph for all of the help it has given me during the last three years. The Young Guns initiative was a lot more than a competition for me and has provided me with great deal of insight, mentoring and support. I am glad I have been able to repay the faith the judging team put in two years ago and look forward now to a new challenge next year.”

Andrea Friggi, marketing manager, Triumph UK, said: “The Triumph team is totally delighted for Chrissy.  His commitment, professionalism and riding performances over the last two years have been outstanding. He continues to demonstrate why the judging panel chose him to be the first Young Guns winner and this result is further proof of his impressive racing talent.

“We wish Chrissy well in his future and hope that he continues to use the skills that he learnt during his time as a Young Gun to carry on progressing his racing career.”

This year’s Young Guns will all be looking to get some hints and tips from Chrissy as they head towards the final of this year’s competition. The 2013 final will take place at Donington Park, 25th – 27th October, where the three Young Gun finalists will go head to head to be crowned the 2013 Triumph Young Gun.
