A rare chance to join a factory tour of Triumph’s Hinckley Factory

Motorcycle enthusiasts have the chance to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the world famous Triumph factory in Hinckley, Leicestershire. The exclusive opportunity comes as part of the world’s largest festival devoted to Britain’s biggest and most iconic motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph Live 2012.

Over the weekend of the event (31 August – 2 September), visitors will be able to take a tour of Triumph’s state-of-the-art factory, which is among the most modern in the world. Employing over 700 people, 300 of whom work in R & D, Triumph Hinckley manufactures 25,000 motorcycles each year, half of Triumph’s annual production. The tours – which are available on a first come, first served basis – take in the extensive machine shops before arriving in assembly for a look at how the bikes are made.

Triumph Live, which takes place at Mallory Park Circuit, Leicestershire, celebrates 110 years of the British motorcycle manufacturer’s history and is open to riders of all marques, music fans and families alike.

Already announced for the festival are headline act Kaiser Chiefs and Brit rockers Reef who will be performing over the weekend. Visitors to the festival will also be treated to a host of other live bands; championship racing from the Triumph Triple Challenge race series; the Wall of Death, road, track and off-road demo rides; plus an eclectic mix of other displays, activities and attractions.

Visitors will be able to view the latest range of Triumph motorcycles – including the brand new Trophy – together with a selection of some of the UK’s best customised Triumphs. Key bikes from Triumph’s history will be on display as part of a unique exhibition exploring the 110 year anniversary, while those looking to kit themselves out with top quality riding apparel can take advantage of the Triumph Clothing Megastore.

Tickets are on sale now at triumph-live.com, priced at £47 for a weekend pass or just £27 for Saturday-only access. Entry for under 16s is free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Onsite camping will be available from Thursday until Sunday, including toilet/shower facilities, a secure bike park and safety deposit boxes. Camping costs £15 per person for the weekend and must be pre-booked.
