Strong results for Aubin and Buildbase Honda

Buildbase Honda’s Nico Aubin leaves the fourth round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals Championship still holding on to his third place in the standings despite taking a heavy fall in race two.

Practice sessions at Whitby gave Aubin time to adapt to the jump-filled track, posting the third fastest time in free practice. He then went on to better his performance in qualifying and put his Honda CRF450R on pole for the three races.

In Saturday’s race, Aubin got boxed-in out of the gate and on the opening lap, he found himself outside the top-10. After putting in some quick laps, he made his way up to the top-five before one last push to finish on the podium in second place.

In the second moto on Sunday, Aubin took a heavy fall, taking him out of contention for the race due to a damaged machine.

The Buildbase Honda team worked hard on the bike to get it ready for the final moto. Aubin battled through the discomfort of his earlier crash to produce a solid third place finish and take fifth overall for the weekend, from just two results.

The reigning Red Bull Pro Nationals Champion remains third overall in the standings and is looking to move up the order at the fifth round of the championship at Canada Heights in Kent on 3/4 August.
