RICHARDS BIDS TO TRIUMPH AT DONINGTON PARK AS KENNEDY AIMS TO REGAIN LEAD

Jack Kennedy won both Motorpoint British Supersport races at Snetterton

Jack Kennedy’s form this season allowed him to win both Motorpoint British Supersport races at Snetterton

The rivalry in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship protected by Datatag resumes this weekend at Donington Park as Jack Kennedy aims to wrestle the standings lead back from fierce title rival Glen Richards.

The pair have been fighting for the advantage all season and Richards took advantage of Kennedy’s seventh place at Cadwell Park last time out to take the lead in the standings for the first time this season and arrives at the Leicestershire circuit with a 9.5 points lead over the Mar-Train Yamaha rider.

The Smiths (Gloucester) Racing Triumph team will be seeking another double win and Richards is expecting tough opposition from his team-mate and Cadwell Park race winner Billy McConnell, who currently lies third in the standings.

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Ben Wilson is still seeking his first win of the season but Christian Iddon is closing in on the former championship runner-up and aims to build on his best result of the season last time out for the Oxford TAG Triumph team.

Motorpoint British Supersport Championship protected by Datatag standings after Cadwell Park:
1. Glen Richards (Smiths (Gloucester) Racing Triumph) 275
2. Jack Kennedy (Martrain Yamaha) 265.5
3. Billy McConnell (Smiths (Gloucester) Racing Triumph) 228
4. Ben Wilson (Gearlink Kawasaki) 185
