updated MOTORCYCLISTS MATTER – YOUR SUPPORT IS VITAL

biker petition In order to raise awareness of motorcyclists on Britain’s roads, Bennetts, the UK’s No.1 Bike Insurance Specialist, is campaigning to ensure biker related questions are made compulsory in the driving theory test – who despite accounting for just 1% of road traffic, fall victim to over a fifth of all fatalities on the roads.

An e-petition to raise awareness of bikers on the road is now really gaining momentum with more than 70,000 signatures to date, backing a campaign to ensure compulsory bike-related questions are included in the driving test. The petition closes at 2pm on Saturday 23rd June, so with under a day remaining each signature is vital to get to that 100,000 mark. This will allow the petition to be raised at the House of Commons and hopefully help reduce accidents in the UK in the future and get the test changed for the better- please pass to your freinds and contacts and let’s get bikes on the car theory test….

Did you know that motorists can currently pass without answering a single question relating to bikers? As many as 7,004 bikers and their pillions lost their lives between 1999 and 2010 and the biker casualty rate is currently a staggering 61 times greater than that of motorists. With questions currently selected at random, there is no guarantee that a question relating to the awareness of motorcyclists will arise in the current test format and this petition is set to challenge that.

Your support for this campaign is vital, please urge your friends and fellow bikers to also sign this petition, even just a simple LIKE on Facebook will help us raise awareness.
