The EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan opens to the public today with many of the major motorcycle manufacturers unveiling more new models for 2013 – many of which are destined to make their UK debut at Motorcycle Live 2012 in just ten days time.

Italian giant Ducati used its home show to present the new generation of the Hypermotard family, including the new Hyperstrada mid-range tourer. It also unveiled an exciting new ‘R’ version of 1199 Panigale superbike and a special touring-oriented Diavel Strada.

Honda launched a trio of new middleweight machines powered by a brand new parallel twin engine – the CB500X, the CB500F and the CBR500R – as well as the NSS300 Forza high-spec sporty scooter and an upgraded version of the CBR600RR in Repsol Honda MotoGP colours.

BMW Motorrad introduced its new F 800 GT middleweight tourer and three 90 Years Special Edition models – the R 1200 GS Adventure, R 1200 RT and R 1200 R, to celebrate the manufacturer’s momentous 90th year in 2013. Husqvarna Motorcycles unveiled the retro-styled Concept Baja and the TE449RR, which will race in the Dakar Rally in 2013.

British manufacturer Triumph chose Milan to launch the new Daytona 675 and 675R supersport machines, while KTM announced new members of its already extensive Duke family – the single-cylinder 690 Duke R and the 390 Duke adventure model. It also unveiled the prototype KTM 1290 Super Duke.

Milan also marked the debut of the new Moto Guzzi V7 range, now consisting of the V7, the V7 Special and the V7 Racer. Meanwhile, the Italian brand’s Piaggio Group stable-mate revealed the a new 1200cc V-twin adventure bike – the Aprilia Caponord.

All the new machines revealed at Milan EICMA – plus many, many more – will be on display at Motorcycle Live 2012.
