Honda’s new unamed production model for MotoGP spotted testing

Honda has been spotted testing a new prototype of a whole new production model it intends to release by the end of 2013, which is for the 2014 FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix MotoGP class.

The new model has been confirmed as a model “intended to enable entrants to race in MotoGP at lower cost” and so long as testing is as per expectations, Honda is hoping to have this in place for the start of the next season.

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), with its test rider, was spotted putting the prototype through its paces at the circuit of TWIN RING MOTEGI on May 23rd and May 24th, 2013.

Shuhei Nakamoto, Executive Vice President of Honda Racing Company came forward to confirm more information regarding the prototype

“Development of the model is currently a little behind schedule but the test results showed more than what we had expected, in particular, with its running performance. We can’t announce its name or the specification at this stage but we will have an opportunity of announcing the details in the not too distant future. We will keep on developing the machine to meet the 2014 MotoGP technical and sporting regulations, and will introduce the model by the end of this year.”
