Cadwell Park is gearing up for its biggest event of the season as the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship arrives in Lincolnshire this August Bank Holiday weekend (24/25/26 August).

The event will attract tens of thousands of fans from across the country who flock to the Louth circuit to watch some of the world’s leading riders tackle one of the most challenging circuits on the planet. The Superbikes will reach top speeds of up to 170mph as they go head-to-head for victory, and fans will witness the spectacular sight of the Superbikes getting completely airbourne over the infamous Mountain section.

The Louth-based Samsung Honda team have celebrated success at their home track in the past and will be counting on local support as Lincoln’s Alex Lowes and triple champion Ryuichi Kiyonari aim for victory at Cadwell Park. Lowes narrowly missed out on wins last time out at Oulton Park and will want to close the deficit to championship leader Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne and Australian rival Josh Brookes in the title race.

Lowes said: “We are getting to the point in the season now where I need to start upping my game and keep building our position so that we are ready for the final rounds. We had some great races at Oulton Park and if the races at Cadwell Park are going to be like that then there is going to be some awesome races. I have good memories of Cadwell Park from last year as that is where I had my first podium finish and this is my home round so we want to have a good result!”

Title challenger Brookes, a firm favourite with the Cadwell Park crowd for his spectacular style at the Mountain, added: “We have had two wins from the last two rounds so maybe that might play on the minds of the other riders. I think we will all try as hard as always, because the only way the next races will count is if we are scoring the final podium credits. I think it will be a good weekend and we will all be pushing each other in the races plus we can give the Tyco Suzuki a bit of air time!”

At this year’s event spectators will be able to take advantage of a new footbridge which provides easier access by linking the paddock with the pit straight, crossing two sections of the circuit from startline to Coppice and the return leg between Mansfield and the Mountain section, positioned carefully so no spectator views are obscured.

The Cadwell MCE BSB ‘Party in the Park’ is famed for its festival atmosphere, with live music, an extensive trade village and motorcycle trials team will be performing on Sunday and Monday. There’s also a new adventure playground for children plus a funfair.

Discounted advance tickets are available to purchase online: weekend admission, is £31 online in advance. Raceday (Monday) admission is just £26 online and children under 13 go free all weekend. For more information and to book, call 0843 453 9000 or visit www.cadwellpark.co.uk
