The latest research from Bike Trader, the UK’s leading online used bike marketplace, shows that overall searches for used Triumph bikes increased by 24% in the first six months of 2013 when compared with the same period last year. Between January and June 270,000 unique visitors made a total of 1.5 million searches for used Triumph models.

Meanwhile the Honda CBR family of bikes remains the most searched in 2013, well ahead of the Yamaha YZF and Suzuki GSX-R. Honda and Suzuki bikes dominate the top ten list of searches with four and three bikes respectively. During this period the Bike Trader website attracted a total of 31.8 million searches, 28% of which came via a mobile device.

Top Triumph searches (Jan-June 2013) include:

  1. Daytona
  2. Tiger
  3. Bonneville
  4. Speed
  5. Street
  6. Sprint
  7. Thunderbird
  8. Rocket
  9. America
  10. Trophy

Commenting on the rise in Triumph searches, Dan Tye, Editor, Bike Trader said: “You’ve got to hand it to Triumph, they’ve spent millions on designing new bike models over the past five years and the result is that they’re making exactly the kind of bikes people want to buy and own. What we’re seeing here is an increase in the number of bikers searching through our website to try and get their hands on a secondhand 2009, 2010, 2011 or 2012 Triumph model. Sure, Triumph might not have made it into our top ten, but an increase in 33,000 unique visitors searching for a Triumph over the past six months shows that there is an increasing appetite for a machine from the UK manufacturer.”
