Two challenging races ensued for Team Alstare Superbike Ducati at Monza; Badovini brought his 1199 Panigale 9NA in 11th place, while Carlos Checa did not attend the races shoulder injury.

Race 1 – from twelfth on the grid, Badovini lost some places in the first chicane and then recovered two of the positions lost by the end of the first lap, placing 14th. He then gave chase to Sandi and Neukirchner immediately in front of him and, at the eighth round, managed to overtake both the riders ahead of him, to go in eleventh place. Holding the German rider behind him during the second stage of the race, Badovini crossed the line in eleventh place finish, earning five points for the championship.

Race 2-Badovini had a good start in the second race, gaining a couple of places in the first corner only to find himself eleventh after two laps. Once passed Neukirchner, Ayrton began to push to get Baz immediately in front of him. Uunfortunately the gap was too big between him and did not allow him to further improve his position.

Badovini at Monza Badovini: ‘Race 1 was difficult because we had no problems hopping in the fastest part of the track. We solved them in part for the second race, making some changes and some tests, and came up with something good. In the coming days we will test at Mugello, where the goal will be to focus on what we got here today and optimize it in anticipation of the upcoming races. I would like to thank all the sponsors, fans and the Ducati fans who came to support us this weekend – their support is always greatly appreciated.

At the end of this fourth round of the championship, 2013, Badovini is 13th in the standings with 32 points. Checa, who did not attend the races today, still has 29 points and 14th in the overall standings.

The Ducati Team Alstare take part with Badovini in development to testing at Mugello next Tuesday and Wednesday .
